The $99 price tag is a little steep for what you get, but it's worth the investment if your goal is increased AAC use. The information in this toolkit is very helpful when working with students who need help using alternative communication methods while also being gentle on teachers and paras that may not have any experience developing strategies around these techniques yet!
I went from never working with anyone who used AAC to having multiple students this year. It's been a lot of fun, but I've also found myself overwhelmed by the changes in my classroom and how best can support them through it all. This resource has helped me do just that!
Thank you so much for an amazing product - thoughtful design elements make sure every student is supported no matter what level they are at or need help with--and most importantly: carryover into everyday life outside school too!!
I'm excited about continuing to implement all of the ideas Meg shares because now we have everything laid out clearly before us.
I have always struggled with the issue of access for students. After I walked out of the classroom, their devices would often go back onto a bookshelf or filing cabinet and they were virtually forgotten until next time I came around to check them again.
We've been using this resource since the beginning of the school year-- and now every single one had his/her own device ready at hand-I can report success!
All it took was getting everyone on the same page and the training modules and all of the printables accomplished that for the teams I'm working with. Thank you!!
It takes all of the things I have been saying to my teams (on repeat, for years) and puts them in a nice tidy little package that makes it easy peasy!
It's already made with everything you need included; training videos + visuals and are broken down into modules which allow me time check-in on achievements as well as provide individualized feedback if necessary before moving onto new topics or challenges like goal setting between sessions - because let's face it: sometimes people can feel intimidated by huge courses full of information they might not understand.
AdaptEd makes great materials and this course and printables is not exception. I've been using core vocabulary for years now in my therapy, but wasn't having much success getting the rest of the IEP team on board. This is exactly what I needed. I could have done the presentation myself, but it was nice not having to put it all together.
What makes this product so amazing are all of the materials that come with it! I feel like my teachers and I are FINALLY on the same page. My teachers have transformed their rooms this fall into core accessible rooms.
The descriptive labels are my absolute favorite and now when I pop into the rooms I see modeling going on all day long. I can't thank you enough for creating these materials and sharing them.
