Grace L: These are super useful for working with my students who are using AAC to show them that THEY can tell a story and not have to worry about adapting stories on the fly. Beautiful pictures and a good length for the stories so that the kiddos stay engaged.
Buyer: Really great resource of stories. I love that they are written almost exclusively in core vocabulary. However, fair warning, this does mean the stories are lacking in a lot of detail and the plots have been simplified significantly. This is not bad in and of itself, but I purchased these stories to read in mixed language level classrooms, which means some of the students with higher language skills can find the stories too simple/boring. I use it as a way to have these students practice sight words, so it all works out in the end! The illustrations that go with these stories are great as well- I love that they are not weird looking cartoon people!
We hope you enjoy these CORE vocabulary book!
This book is based on a selection of core vocabulary, or the highest frequency words in speech and writing. Remarkably, these seemingly simple words make up roughly 80% of what we say!
They can be used and combined for a full variety of communicative functions (such as initiation, termination, commenting, requesting, asking, interjecting and directing others). Teaching core vocabulary allows students the chance to do more than just get their needs and wants to be met, but to develop authentic language skills!

Once again the girls at AdaptEd 4 Special Ed have knocked it out of the park. These products can be used for all of my students despite the varied skill levels as they are easily adapted for different skill sets. I just love these products. My special education teachers have even started asking about where to find them.

I love how students can practice their personal information in such a fun and exciting way! This is a must have for every low incidence classroom! This has inspired me to add this as an IEP goal for my young low incidence students.

Your asking questions packets are genius. This is such a hard skill and I am super excited to print these packs (I bought a few!) to add to my classroom. Thank you for the clever products!

These books have been so helpful with my students with special needs. They take me a while to make - but so worth it. The topics are great - useful and relevant. Thank you!
