"Answering Hypothetical Que...
$5.97 USD
Do you want to teach your students how to think critically?
Answering Hypothetical Questions is an educational resource that provides teachers/ parents with a different approach to teaching hypothetical questions.
Rather than having the student identify the correct answer, this material focuses on providing and discussing multiple correct answers to hypothetical questions.
First, explore the options and talk about the different correct answers.
Then have your student select the answer that makes most sense for them! Includes 15 sets of hypothetical questions and possible correct answers. PDF | 8.2 MB | 35 pages
With this innovative approach, students will be able to learn more about themselves while also learning how others might think or feel in certain situations.
This unique method of teaching will allow your students to develop empathy skills they can use throughout their lives! Click "add to cart" if you're interested in downloading Answering Hypothetcal questions today!
Answering Hypothetical Questions
This product contains 15 sets of hypothetical questions and possible correct answers.
Each set of questions is accompanied by a discussion on the different correct answers.
The goal is to have students identify the best answer for them, rather than just identifying the correct answer.
These are great for studying or reviewing! They are also great for group discussions!
Hypothetical Questions Speech Therapy
I find myself writing IEP goals for hypothetical questions ALL the time.
But how we teach the skill is just as important!
Many times we get caught in the habit of teaching a single rote answer . . .
Question: What do you do if you feel sick?
Answer: “Go to the doctor.”
But do we all really go to the doctor when we are sick?
Or is that just ONE possibility?
After all, we want students thinking, not just memorizing answers!
Therefore, this material is a little different than your standard hypothetical questions deck.
Rather than having the student identify the correct answer, they will be asked what they would do if they were feeling sick and then given three options from which to choose one.
This way students can think about their own reasoning behind their decision rather than simply identifying an answer on a test or quiz without understanding why it was chosen over other possible responses.
Purchase this set today and give your students more opportunities for critical thinking skills development!
All pictures are real photographs in order to encourage generalization and independence.

About the Authors
Meet Shari Bithell, M.Ed, Ed.S, GATE Certified was a 5th/6th grade GATE teacher in a California model school for full inclusion. She worked with mostly GATE and 2e students, challenging them in their areas of strengths and helping them to grow and progress in their areas of challenge. Executive Functioning skills were an area that Shari felt all GATE students needed to develop as a life skill to carry them through higher education and their eventual career. Shari did eventually move on to working at the
district level both as an instructional coach helping teachers to grow in areas of challenge and heading up the GATE program at her district. Although it was not recognized as a child, Shari would probably be labeled as 2e in today’s school climate. She understands the challenges of being gifted, yet struggling in some academic areas. Shari’s special interests include reading, gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.
Meet Jeanine Leech, M.Ed, with over 24 years of working in special education, Jeanine knows what it takes to create the most inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students. She started in the field as an instructional aide for a child with autism and knew immediately that this was her calling. She has served as a teacher, behavior specialist, program specialist, and special education and student services director. Jeanine possesses extensive training in IDEA IEPs (Special Education), Section 504 Plans (Civil Rights), Gifted and Talented Students, Foster Youth, and Student Discipline.
Her expertise as a former district employee and an advocate for families brings a unique skill set that works with families and school districts towards resolutions that are solution-focused with student’s needs at the center.

Noeimi R- I am so happy I discovered this resource. It was not only helpful for my students with special needs but also for my newcomers who are just becoming aware with language structures and patterns. Very cool resource. Thanks!
Annarose F. - So great! I have so many kiddos on my caseload targeting describing action words and using the appropriate word order! Can't get enough of these resources! Buyer-I love these books! I especially like that this one has non-identical pieces to match as it makes it more challenging.
Buyer- Perfect visual and interactive product for my special education classroom. The students worked toward independence with verbs using this!
Elizabeth K.- Good for my students using AAC to learn to generate simple sentences.
